Colemine Records
Colemine Records is an American independent soul/funk label founded in 2007 in Oxford, Ohio (now based in Loveland, Ohio, alongside the owners' record store Plaid Room Records). Founder Kelly Cole — then a high-school biology teacher — literally drew the logo on a Subway napkin to release a record by his own band; his brother Bob Cole joined full-time at the end of 2014.^[raw/articles/colemine-records-about-us.md] In 2018 Colemine launched its rock-leaning imprint Karma Chief Records, whose first signing was the Grammy-nominated Black Pumas.^[raw/articles/colemine-records-about-us.md]
